The Mission of the Village of Burnham is to promote Public Safety of our community and to provide the best services possible with our limited resources. We ask all of our residents and visitors to obey the traffic laws and to drive safely. The Police Department will monitor the vehicles for non-compliance of stickers and write citations as needed. Fines will also be issued for loud boom boxes and littering.
It's vitally important that we keep our alleys clean and to cut the grass behind the garages and rear fences. All garbage should be inside the 90 gallon blue containers, as this will help to prevent a rodent problem. If a second (2nd) garbage cart is needed, please call the Village Clerk's Office at 862-9150 for the specific details.
It would be a great help, if the residents would give the Village a little assistance by sweeping debris from the curb drains as this will help to prevent street flooding. As we continue to work together, our property values will increase.
The Spring of 2010 is here. We ask All Residents to clean up your properties and to pick up any visible litter off the parkways in front your homes as well.
The Dunkin' Donuts for the mall site at Burnham and Brainard Avenues has been put on hold because of the bad ecomomy, we hope to advance it in the future.
Your input is welcome. I would like to thank you for entrusting me to Govern Your Village and I will always do the best job I can "and you got my word on it".
Robert E. Polk, Mayor
